The trail was dusty because we went during “the dry season” but I believe other months would be muddy. If you do not have a bag with zippers, I would purchase the locket rental because stuff will bump around and fall out of your bag. The trail is extremely rocky. The cenote was also fun. We did jump in to swim, but we didn’t stay in the water long. There are bats but…”
